Biography

Owen is an illustrator hailing from the Malvern Hills in Worcestershire. Having recently moved to Berlin, he graduated from Bristol UWE in 2010 with a first-class honors degree and now works full-time as a freelance illustrator. Fascinated by old fashioned boys toys, model villages and anything miniature and intricate, Owen creates his illustrations by bringing together different media; he scans in pencil and ink drawings or paint textures into Photoshop and then builds up layers of these to create the final piece. With a color palette inspired by the pop culture of the 1950s, Owen enjoys the versatility of working on the computer, but still likes to go back to basics when he can, using just a pencil and some gouache on paper.
